Quick answers

Important before application.

Please read the following information before completing the application form. Edition-specific dates, fees and conditions are published separately under Practical Information.

Who can apply?

The ART of Ballet Summer Intensive Zurich is open to dancers aged 10+, advanced students, pre-professional students and professional dancers. Professional observers may apply for Observation Classes.

Can a professional dancer attend for only one week?

Yes. Professional status and attendance period are separate choices. Professional dancers may apply for one week or for the complete two-week intensive. Proof of current professional status, or previous professional company employment of more than one year, is required for the Professional Dancer Rate.

What are Observation Classes?

Observation Classes are intended for dance teachers, pedagogues, rehearsal directors and relevant professionals from the fields of dance, movement and sport who would like to observe the training methods and artistic working processes of the ART of faculty.

Are Observation Classes only passive attendance?

Observation is focused on professional development. Participants can follow class structure, exercise development, corrections, musicality, communication, artistic coaching and the adaptation of training for different ages and levels.

Which photographs are required?

Applicants should submit one clear portrait photograph and two full-body dance photographs in appropriate dance attire. The application form displays the accepted formats and previews the selected files before submission.

Is an audition video required?

Applicants should submit an audition video of approximately 5–10 minutes as part of their application. Scholarship applicants must also provide the complete artistic material specified on the Scholarship page.

What should an audition video show?

The dancer’s full body should remain clearly visible throughout the video. The material should include barre work, centre practice and a short classical or contemporary variation. Female applicants training at an appropriate advanced or pre-professional level should also demonstrate pointe work.

How much is the application fee?

The application fee is CHF 40 plus any applicable PayPal transaction fee. The application fee is separate from course tuition and is non-refundable except where mandatory law requires otherwise.

Does payment of the application fee confirm admission?

No. Payment of the application fee confirms neither admission nor a scholarship. ART of reviews the submitted application and artistic material individually and sends the admission decision in writing.

When will the faculty and repertoire be announced?

Teachers, repertoire and specialised workshops are announced only after written confirmation for the relevant edition. This prevents provisional or outdated information from being presented as final.

Can ART of help me find accommodation?

Hotel options can be searched through ART of HotelPlanner or booked directly with a hotel, hostel or apartment provider. We recommend booking early and checking travel time to Tanzwerk101 as well as cancellation conditions before confirming your stay.

Are meals included?

No. Meals and drinks are not included in the course tuition. Participants should organise their own lunch, snacks and drinks during the training day.

Can participants under 18 attend?

Yes. Participants under 18 may attend with the required consent of a parent or legal guardian. Parents or legal guardians remain responsible for travel, accommodation, meals and supervision outside the published course hours.

When is the Zurich scholarship deadline?

The deadline for ART of Zurich 2027 scholarship applications is 1 March 2027. Applications received after this date may still be considered for regular admission where places remain available.

Are uploaded files protected?
